I thought the call was just between the two of us, but then I heard the familiar ding that "someone new has joined"... About six months ago I jumped on a video call with one of my coaches and his Fathom video recorder joined the chat, only the video recorder had some great features including:
It seemed awesome that after our call he had all that at his finger tips almost instantly. So I started testing it on some of my calls, and that's when they released their integrated AI. In my experience, it feels like a lot of the companies that just tried to jump on the AI bandwagon and tape some lame Chat GPT imitator to the side of their car at 90 miles an hour. It's worked about as well as you'd expect. But, Fathom made the AI experience so convenient, fast, and integrated that it didn't feel like AI...instead it felt like the first time I used spellcheck... It was actually helpful in my daily workflow, and I was happy to pay for the premium AI upgrade.
Note: I've only paid for the AI upgrade in one other tool. Notion AI is incredible. Again, the only reason I upgraded is because it was so brilliantly part of the experience and everything just worked!
So what was so amazing that I immediately upgraded? In addition to all the amazing features that the free version comes with, the premium version has:
The upgrade was a no-brainer for someone like me who is on calls half the day and trying to keep track of who said what in which meeting and what I need to follow up on before we talk again. Fathom helps me stay organized, have a library of action items, and serve my clients at a higher level. Not everything is perfect though. So, what's not so great about Fathom?
Overall experience is incredible and I can overlook the problems that their team is actively trying to make better. Fathom has become one of the most useful tools I've added to my business because it makes my job easier every single day. I've been more than happy to pay for the upgraded features. And...it just was awarded with the G2 Award for #1 Highest Satisfaction Product of 2024. Whether it's extracting action items, grabbing a transcript to reuse later, or documenting standard operating procedures, Fathom has been one of the most useful tools I've added to my business.
